Moment in time- Kawau

Kayaking T.F.
As I sat in my wobbly kayak I felt the wetness under my feet. It was cold, wet and slippery. We drifted away and I saw everyone laughing and enjoying themselves. I’d never seen them so joyful and happy. The paddles made a swishing noise as I rowed to Survivor Island. I heard the trees rustling in the wind and the rocks crunching as I stepped on them.
The plastic, salty smell of the kayak reminded me of fish and chips. As we arrived at Survivor Island we went in a cave that was shaped like a heart. It was big and amazing and if you were stranded on Survivor Island the only thing you could eat is oysters and that smelt salty and sweet. The only shelter you would ever get is the cave so if I was you I wouldn’t want to be stranded on Survivor Island. We walked around and we saw seashells and magnificent rock pools. When it was time to go I got towed half way and then I paddled by myself all the way back and it was so much fun but my arms got sore. We got to camp, I wasn’t feeling nervous anymore. Actually I was as brave as a tiger and I wanted to do it again but I could only do it at down time.
