Tyre Swing
I stretched my leg over the long distance to grab the tyre. I swam to the tyre. I couldn’t reach the tyre so I jumped off into the water. It was cold and dirty. Then I tried to get up but it was too slippery so Marcus reached out his hand and I grabbed it and I finally got out.

Moment in time-Kayaking
Kayaking
Here I am, in my kayak paddling wildly towards Stingray Bay. I felt the wet paddle in my sweaty palms. I smelt the salty sea water in my bright yellow kayak. I saw the dazzling bays and cool, colossal coves. I heard the sound of sea water rushing past as I paddled my kayak further and further away from the beach.
Finally we were at super, special Stingray Bay. I could see a stingray as it whizzed past my brilliant boat. Trying to chase it, I lost track. I felt determined to find it. But the stingray won. It disappeared out of sight. The feeling of seeing a stingray was awesome. I felt I was going to burst with excitement.
As we paddled towards the mine, I was expecting to see a huge chimney with copper painted blue. But it was just a horrible hole in the middle of a cool cliff. But the horrible history behind it was awesomely awesome. When we were paddling our wondering way back to terrific Camp Bentzon, I was as happy as a lark and as proud as a lion to see a stingray. The water was doing the Mexican Wave as I paddled my happy kayak towards Camp Bentzon. The water was dancing past me. Finally we were at the camp site. I could finally have my morning tea.

Moment in time-Surfing
Surfing
Slash, splash, splash! I paddled out into the rough waves as I glided slowly over the icy, cold water. I turned around to see the hugest, the most giant wave I had ever seen. And... It was heading right for me. I got ready to catch the mighty beast of a wave. SPLASH! The huge wave crashed on the back of my solid board. “Aaaaaaaa! Holy cow,” I screamed as I balanced my board on the ferocious wave. I rode the wave straight past my grubby cousin who happened to be splashing about in the water at the wrong time. The gnarly wave dunked her. The good thing was, she is an experienced body surfer so she rode the wave into shore with me. I could feel the board vibrating under my sopping feet. I could taste the salty spits of water rocketing into my sweaty face. I rode the beast all the way to shore. “Let’s go again,” I yelled.

Moment in time-Cricket
A four in cricket
As I sprinted up to the pitch I was sweating like I was a pig. I was thinking to myself... it’s time to play the game. The first ball the bowler threw, the ball hit me. I was starting to get angry. The second ball I missed. The third ball, whack, the smooth bat sent huge shock-waves into my tiny hands and the ball went flying as high as a rocket. The crowd went wild. My partner Ryan said, “Run!” I ran at the speed of light, (we ran four Times!). Our team won! I could hear the crowd cheering and clapping and lots of people came running up to me to pat me on the back and shake my hand.

Moment in time-Soccer
Soccer
I am fearsome but rugged. I see my cousin about to pass the ball. I looked up and I saw the muddy ball coming straight for me. I felt really confident controlling the muddy ball. Seconds later I was sprinting up the field dribbling the muddy ball. Just then I saw a grubby defender. He was coming straight for me so I pretended to go one way and then I went the other way. I dodged the defender successfully and I kept running up the field.
A few seconds later I saw the goal and it was coming up fast. I went around the mucky and muddy goalkeeper. Then, before I kicked the ball in the goal I looked up and saw everyone saying “GO BEN!” It was as loud as a herd of elephants. A second later I felt really awesome because I was about to score a goal. I just rolled the ball into the back of the net. I felt as proud as a lion. And then my teammates and I celebrated for the rest of the game.

Moments in time-Kawau
Rope Bridge
I felt confident when I did the rope bridge. My heart was up and down like a jumping kid. My legs were shaking like an earthquake. When the person shook the rope I felt scared. I thought that I was going to fall but I made it. When I was doing it I could taste the Kawau breeze. I could see the man on the other side. I heard the birds cheeping like they were singing a song. I smelt the swamp below me.

Moment in Time 2011
Rope wire
As I stepped onto the wire I heard positive cheers from the children down below. After about 10 seconds the wire became slippery and sweaty. The cool breeze was refreshing as it blew by my face. It felt odd on a rope wire in the middle of the muddy jungle. Friendly Frank cheered me on and encouraged me to finish the course. He was as encouraging as my dad at one of my soccer games.
I was 100% confident. I felt strong-willed and assertive. I was as determined as an Olympic athlete to reach the end. Suddenly I was racing along the wire towards the end. I was as proud as a lion after completing the rope wire.
