On Friday the 9th of September, Jonah Lomu, AKA the human steamroller stepped on the legendary field once again, for the opening ceremony of the rugby world cup, held at Eden Park to greet fans from all around the world to New Zealand.
This was followed by Tonga’s anthem and New Zealand’s beautiful national song. Seconds later the horrifying hakas took place, done by Tonga as well as the All Blacks.
Dan Carter kicked off the most anticipated match of the year, (New Zealand vs Tonga), with a big and strong kick. In the first half Israil Dag scored the first try of RWC 2011, followed by a close conversion by Carter. And then, one more try by Richard Kahui followed by another one from Daggs amazing ball skills.
Tonga kicked off the second half and then failed to stop Jerome Kanoi from getting the ball over the line for a try. Then they swapped round a replay as Tonga scored a try followed by Nonus gnarly try putting this one in the bag, in one of the last plays in the match.
F.W.
